Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Audacity does not Save music files. It saves Projects which will only open and play in Audacity. To get a music file you have to Export one. Export as WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM and that file should drop right into your CD burner.

If you need MP3, you also have to install the lame software from here...

If you successfully recorded both sides of a Skype call, tell us how you did it.

You have to open the .aup file you saved. Easy way is to look in File > Recent Files in Audacity. If that .aup is not in the recent files list, then use File > Open and navigate to the location where you saved the .aup and open it.

If you choose "Audacity Projects (.aup)" in that file window then it will only list .aup files which will make your file easier to find.

The AUP file is the Project Manager and it knows what to do with all those little snippets. If you moved the AUP file or the _data folder, then the show won't open. Let us know.
