I have just installed Audacity. Recording a cassette seems to go ok - at least all the signs say so, but I cannot get any playback.
If I am actually recording, where is it going?
As you can see, I don't know much and need all the help I can get

Re: playback
OP must have figured this out! I have not!
I am running Win 7, with the 1.3.13 of Audacity. I am set at 48000 and using a tape converter to transfer (USB). I can get the music to load fine and play back from the Audacity page. I save it to desktop as a MP3. It will not play (it plays, but no sound) from desktop, nor if I include it in the Media player. Same thing, it shows it is playing, yet still no sound. What am I doing incorrectly. I export this as raw, as it gave me error messages as audio. Help?

Thank you Steve! That worked great! Thanks for the link, as I would never have thought to look in help under 'turntables' when transferring from cassette!
