overdubbing troubles

I will have one track that i import that has an instrumental on it. After i import it and change preferences to allow it to play while recording with a usb mic for vocals, the tracks pause if there is any silence. As long is there is audio going through the mic , it records. As soon as you take a breath, the pause button pushes in and stops the tracks until you make vocals again. Am i doing something wrong? Do i not have something configured properly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You have to disable "Sound Activated Recording" from the Transport Menu.
