Cannot record

I have a new Windows 7 laptop and have downloaded the 1.3 version. However, I cannot get it to record from my USB Turntable (I had no trouble on my Vista laptop). All I get when I press the record button is a continual red colour block. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail - please help, thank you, Ann

It sounds like the recording level is massively too high.
If you right click on the speaker icon near the time/date on your Desktop and bring up the Recording settings, find the recording level setting and turn it down much lower. (It's not unusual on Win 7 to need it set to about 0.1.
