recording drums with 8 channel mixer

Post by phantasm777 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 5:58 am

ive a 9 pc drumset and decent amount of cymbals. i can only record all 8 tracks as one track using audacity.
is there a way that auadaicty can record a track per each mic i use on my drumset? so, for example, if the center toms are lower in vol. than the others, i can just manualy increase the vol. on that track, and not the vol. on one overall track that is the drum track, as i am doing now.
it is possible to have a track per mic using the mixer and audacity?

It's possible, but probably not something that we can offer a lot of help with. What you would need to use would be a multichannel sound card. I don't think that any of the regular forum contributors have such a thing, but there is some information on the forum here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 27&t=38626 and some information on the Audacity wiki here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Multi ... _Recording
