Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Help for Newbie

Post by CaptainCruise » Mon Sep 19, 2011 7:03 pm

I recorded a voice message that I want to save as a wav file so that I can later cut a CD adding different tracks to it. When I hit Save Project I get an error message: Error Saving Project Can't write to file: Error opening file.
If I try to: Save As. I get a Warning message. You are saving an Audacity Project file (.aup) Saving a project file creates a file that only audacity can open. To save......... use File>Export. Help!

Topic split to new thread.

To get a WAV file you need to use "File menu > Export".
