I'm having an issue with this setup.
I have win xp and a delta 1010 rack. It worked fine when i set it all up initially. Even multi channel recording. But now... it will only record if I have playthrough checked on. If I have it off, it records but then when I play it back it is un recognizable. It just sounds like.... well honestly.. like its farting.. LOL.
Any ideas???

Clearly something must have changed between when it was working and when it wasn't. Are you able to suggest any clues as to what may have changed? For example, have you updated anything? Was is OK one day then suddenly not OK the next day? Any hardware changes? Any ideas at all?

No.. unfortunatly.. I havent used it in months... Then turned it on and thats what I got.
I'm trying to avoid reinstalling if I have to but I fear that might be my only option.

Lets see if we can manage thatBearfanmike20 wrote:I'm trying to avoid reinstalling
We'll probably need to go through this a step at a time to rule out possibilities.
One fairly easy thing to rule out is if the problem lies in Audacity. It is incredibly rare (never happens) that something suddenly breaks in Audacity other than the Audacity Preferences (which are of course writeable). So let's try resetting the Audacity Preferences back to the factory defaults - that will in effect give you a clean installation of Audacity. There are instructions here, but give a shout if you have any difficulty. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audac ... defaults_2
(I don't expect this to make any difference, but it would be good to rule it out, and there's a slim chance that it could be the cure).

Re: Win xp delta 1010 8 channel rack
ok... I could not find the file audacity.cfg.
I did a full un install and reinstall of both the drivers for the delta 1010 rack and audacity and i still have the same problem.

Check your version of Audacity (Help menu > About Audacity)Bearfanmike20 wrote:I could not find the file audacity.cfg.
You should have Audacity 1.3.13 (Unicode)
If not, you can get the correct version from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows
If you have run any version of Audacity 1.3.x just once without it crashing, there will be a "audacity.cfg" file.
Note that this file is inside a hidden folder, so you need to include hidden files and folders in your search.
To reset the Audacity preferences you need to carefully follow these instructions: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audac ... defaults_2
