Combining 2 ( or more ) Pieces of Music.

Post by skyy38 » Sat Jul 30, 2011 12:56 am

For this example, lets just talk stereo tracks.

I know that one can take 2 different sections of music and edit them together in Audacity.

After these 2 sections are combined, can you keep on adding MORE sections of music to your original 2 sections of music ?

Can you keep "attaching" until you get what you want?

Much thanks for any help!

Yes there is no limit apart from your disk space.

There can be clicks if you join completely different pieces of music that have different volume levels at the join.

Ideally you should have the pieces as separate tracks underneath each other and use Envelope Tool to fade the pieces into each other. At least you should select all of the piece you want to paste and click Edit > Find Zero Crossings before cutting or copying. This will adjust the selection so that both edges border on a silent sample, so that it is safer to paste.
