Is creating samples really this hard?

Post by kilves76 » Tue Jul 05, 2011 11:31 am

Despite reading the manual, the only way to create samples i found is

trim to selection -> align with zero -> export

coming from image world would have expected at least "Paste as new track", "Paste as new file" or better yet right click on selection with those and an additional "Export". You're making it outright hard...

Right click actions have been avoided in Audacity because right click is not currently supported on all platforms in WxWidgets and Audacity has been designed as a cross platform application.

If I understand your question correctly, to export a selection: Select the part that you want to export, then "File menu > Export Selection".
If you want to duplicate a selection to a new track, select the part that you wish to duplicate and press Ctrl+D (or "Edit menu > Duplicate").
