Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I have reloaded Audacity 1.2.6 several times, but when I try to open any audio file I only get the first 30 secs
and then nothing. The previous install before my pc crashed worked really well.
Can't seem to find I have done this time around, most upsetting as I am in the middle of
converting my collection of LP's to CD's.

Can anyone provide some insight to what I have done or not done. :(

Cheers Peter

You would be better to use Audacity 1.3.13. (the 1.2.6 version is well past retirement age).

Does the first 30 seconds play correctly?

No. Just a hi speed squirt of noise. The thing is it was performing perfectly before I had a PC crash
and now this. I have loaded it onto a 2nd pc with the same effect. maybe there is something in the
settings about this????

At last success. thanks for the suggestion.

Now back to the LP conversion. I have tried other editing programs,
but have been a disappointed in the results compared to audacity.
