TRANSFER TO WINDOWS 7
I have recently bought a new computer and now have Windows Home Premium. Previosly I had Vista on which I had no problems in making recordings. I installed the ION disk, it looks like the version on the disk is 1.4. I have set the preferences, as far as I can see, correctly, however the layout in the Sound Control is different from that shown in the manual.I have attempted to make a recording from the ION usb turntable but all I get is squeaks and scratchy sounds. I do not know what version of Audacity I have got, but when I tried to download the currrent version using Audacity-download my internet security stopped the download - something to do with a phishing url. I have checked and rechecked that I have the right settings. The only thing that I have not come across in the manual that is different from what I have in Sound Control is a drop down menu with several different settings concerning numbers of bits (16,32) and hertz (?) values (44100 and others, I think). It's currently on 16 and 44100. Any idea as to what's going wrong, please, as I've got a stack of albums waiting to be converted to CD !
