Unable to get audio on computer speakers
When recording audio from Hype cassette in Audacity to my Dell desktop computer with external speakers I'm unable to get any audio on my computer speakers. Mute is NOT checked on my computer sound control and Control Panel settings. Also Software Playthrough is on. Have Windows XP, Audacity 1.3.13beta. Can anyone help me get the sound activated?

You're recording OK, but you can't hear what you're recording, right?
Windows has separate recording & playback mixers*, so you don't always hear what you are recording.
What version of Windows are you running? Try double-clicking the speaker icon, then click Options -> Properties, and you should be able to select various inputs and set their volumes.
* The recording mixer, isn't usually a true "mixer", because you can normally record only one input at a time, except sometimews you can record the output from the playback mixer (What-U-Hear or Stereo Mix).
