Multiple Track Time Shift

Post by Verstauum » Mon Sep 10, 2007 6:37 pm

Is there a way to time-shift multiple tracks in audacity? I created a song medly but now want to insert a clip into the beginning, but I've already perfectly aligned the other tracks to where I want them. If there isn't a way to do it already, it would be convenient to be able to select multiple tracks and drag them all forward or backwards in time rather than having to move each one individually. My current workaround is to export all tracks to a single WAV file and then re-import that WAV into a new project.

You can't in 1.2.x. But in 1.3.3 it's just a matter of highlighting all the tracks and using the Time-Shift tool.

I recommend using 1.3.3. But backup all your data to a different file name before opening your projects in the new version.

Also, keep in mind that you can have both versions installed at the same time with no conflict. But you'll have to reset all your settings and point the new version to your Lame_enc.dll file again. The new version won't read the settings from the old and set itself up.
