any file, any OS version I've tried (been working on this a while - so 10.4.9-10.5.4), Audacity with the new version of Noise Removal always crashes. Same audio files work fine in Audacity 1.3.2. I've tried up through the just released 1.3.5b.
I search the discussions and there are comments in the other OSes (linux...) of a bug that is bypassed by copying the noise to a new file, profile, then apply the profile back to the main audio file. But that doesn't work for me. It just hesitates and crashes.
I can provide crash logs? It's consistently thread zero that crashes.
1.3.3+ Noise Filter crashes on me every time

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Let's see if we can do the fuzzy-warm right-brain analysis first.
<<<It just hesitates and crashes.>>>
Which part hesitates? Noise Reducer works in two parts; Get Noise Profile, and Apply Profile.
Just to eliminate one pathway, pull down the six second Piano Trill from my web site...

...put that on a fresh, new Audacity timeline and try to noise reduce. It doesn't matter where in the song you get the profile from, we're after the process health, not the sound quality.

Re: 1.3.3+ Noise Filter crashes on me every time
Have you got an "NRP" folder inside ~/Library/Application Support/audacity? If so, open the NRP folder and see if it has a noisegate.nrp file in it and if so, delete it. The presence of that file (a noise profile which is only saved when in CleanSpeech mode) used to cause Audacity to crash when using Noise Removal. We fixed it for Windows and Linux, but it's never been tested on Mac.

Gale, was that verified? The presence of that file used to cause Audacity to crash when using Noise Removal.
(That would mean: Having audacity_just_before_the_fix.exe and audacity_just_after_the_fix.exe,
with first one crashing while the other not crashing, in the same situation several times in a row.)
We might have to do with somethink else.
Similar (?) case: http://www.audacityteam.org/forum/viewt ... =16&t=5748
<<any file, ... Audacity with the new version of Noise Removal always crashes>>
Does always mean always?
What are sample rates of your files? Did you try 'standard' 44100, imported to a clean (empty) 44.100 project?
