Extracting specific audio

Post by Retro~Burn » Wed Apr 27, 2011 5:35 pm

Hello,

Is it possible with Audacity to extract specific audio samples from an audio file. For instance, if an audio file has music mixed with sound effects and vocals. Can you isolate one or two and extract them individually?

Regards,

Retro.

No. The best you can do is sometimes create a mono "karaoke" track from a song with the Vocal Removal or Center Pan Removal tools. The success rate isn't very good.

There is money-based software that claims to be able to do this.
