Audacity crashing after you stop recording

Audacity keeps crashing on me every time I try to record something. It happens right after I hit stop.
Here is a screen shot.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the most updated version but it still crashes when I try to record. Doesn't matter if I record from a microphone or my sound card it crashes.

I run windows vista sp2
32-bit

You have posted in the Audacity 1.2.x part of the forum, so I presume that when you say "the most updated version" you mean Audacity 1.2.6.
The 1.2.x series ceased development many years ago and is not recommended for modern computers. The recommended version is Audacity 1.3.13
