I downloaded audacity 1.3 and I still have the same problem. It will only record in mono!
Re: only records in mono

Re: only records in mono
We're starting to notice you're not following instructions. We really need to figure out whether your computer or your source is messing up. Can you do that touch test for us?
I don't remember you telling us whether or not you had two tracks in Audacity or only one.
Does your Audacity have two blue tracks with only one filled with music, or only one track?

there are two tracks but only one of the tracks shows the blue music.
Re: only records in mono
I think we need to take this through from the beginning of the signal chain, to see where the problem is:
1. What model number is the piano?
2. what socket is the cable plugged into on the piano?
3. Is the 1/4" plug a stereo plug (two black rings), as well as all the 1/8" plugs?
4. Did anything change between the time it worked and when it didn't? Was that the time you extended the cable length or was it always set up with the three extensions on the cable?

Re: only records in mono
I"m still not able to record in stereo mode. I've done everything people have suggested and still it only records in mono. I'm using aucacity1.3 beta. I've bought lots of different cords from radio shack but none solve the problem. My Roland Piano is hooked up to my computer but will only record in mono. Does anybody know of another recording program that I can try since I just can't get audacity to work?
