Hiding Metadata editor on export
The option in preferences to show/hide the Metadata editor isn't working. I looked in the cfg file and there is nothing in there for the metadata editor. What can I add to the cfg file to hide it when I export a track?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Hiding Metadata editor on export
Well it works fine for me in 1.3.12 and the latest Alpha nighly build of 1.3.13 - go to Edit > Preference > Import/Export and you should see a check-box titled "Show Metadata Editor prior to export step" - ensure that this is checked off.
There was briefly an earlier 1.3.13 which did not honour the setting of that check-box but that was fixed many Alpha releases ago.

That's what I did. It's not 'sticking'. I can just add it to the cfg file if someone gives me the code.waxcylinder wrote:Well it works fine for me in 1.3.12 and the latest Alpha nighly build of 1.3.13 - go to Edit > Preference > Import/Export and you should see a check-box titled "Show Metadats Editor prior to export step" - ensure that this is checked off.

Thanks!steve wrote:(The [AudioFiles] section probably exists already, so just put ShowId3Dialog=0 in that section).Code: Select all

Well, I discovered that code (now that I know what it is) was actually already in there but it's not working.

Which exact version of Audacity are you using? (Help menu > About Audacity)

1.3.4-1.1 according to Synaptic. You might remember I downgraded to get rid of those nasty green lines . . .steve wrote:Which exact version of Audacity are you using? (Help menu > About Audacity)

Oh yes I remember. Unfortunately it looks like you've run into another old version bug.
Were you planning to upgrade your OS soon?

If I remeber correctly he was about to switch do debian... But I'm assuming he hasn't done it yet... Current audacity version on debian stable is 1.3.12.
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).

Drat! That's what I figured. I'm nearing the end of a HUGE video remastering project that I've been at for about two months. I don't want to start mucking around OS/hardware until it's finished, committed to disk and backed up. Should be about another 2-3 weeks. I'm assuming the aup files are backwards compatible? Don't want any nasty surprises down the road.steve wrote:Oh yes I remember. Unfortunately it looks like you've run into another old version bug.
