Audacity has changed in appearance, and I don't know how I did it or how to change it back.
I use audacity to record English for students to listen to and so I am a simple user, not a power user of the program.
I'd just like have the simple tool for marking a section to be dumped as an .mp3 file. I don't know what the little triangles are supposed to do, put they make it harder to select what a I want. I also don't understand the color change... I cannot remember exactly what it used to look like, but it's different now. I think I fat fingered some keys, probably when I was typing ctrl-b to label a selection, but I have had no luck in returning the program to normal. I've shut it down and restarted... but it 'helpfully' remembers where it was and restores itself.
Andy help appreciated.

Re: change in appearance, don't know how I did it
You have the envelope tool turned on - and I strongly suspect that you didn't mean to. You will get this view if you click on the Envelope Tool icon in the tools toolbar (the icon is two little white triangles pointing a small centred white dote with a blue line passing through) - or if you have clicked on the Mult-tool (Icon is the asterisk)
To return to the "normal" view simply click on the "Selection" tool (icon is lake a bug capital I or a girder).
BTW the envelope tool is used to vary the volume within the recording and your example screenshot shows that youhave lowered the volume in part of your project - you may need/want to reverse this. See this page from the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Envelope_Tool

Re: change in appearance, don't know how I did it
Yeah... that seems to be it. I'll have to check the volume on all the little selections I've exported. Probably have to do them all over again. I still don't know how I got into that envelope... I'm sure it was something I typed at the keyboard, but maybe not.
Thanks for getting me out of it anyway.

You can use the F keys from F1 to F6 to change the active tool.
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).
