Hi, I was working on a project on my mac with audacity from one of my classes, and my finished files got completely silenced.
This is what the pop-up says
"Project check detected 68 missing audio data blockfile[s] (.au). probably due to a bug, system crash or accidental deletion. There is no way for Audacity to recover this lost data automatically; you may choose to permanently fill in silence for the missing data, temporarily fill in silence for the missing data, temporarily fill in silence for this session only, or close the project now and try to restore the missing data by hand."
before that showed up, I had another pop up that said something about finding "orphaned files" (which I never created) and how they had to be deleted in order for me not to get a bug. so I did, but nothing really changed.
How can I get my work back? and if I cant, how can I make Audacity work in my computer? without having the fear that the file I'm working on could be deleted...

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Files Silenced from Audacity. "Bug& Orphaned files"
You can stop using Audacity 1.2. Audacity 1.2 is very old and is no longer supported, corrected, patched, or repaired.how can I make Audacity work in my computer?
Get Audacity 1.3.12 from here...
http://audacityteam.org/download/
You can safely install both versions, but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2.
In spite of being the current version, Audacity 1.2 can be profoundly unstable on newer Macs.
If you produce MP3 files or need more exotic file support, get lame and FFMpeg software from the same web site. Do Not use older software.
