Is there a WMA file size limitation for import?

Post by SallieMae » Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:03 am

I am running Win7 (64-bit) PC and am trying split a WMA of a meeting. I have installed Lame into Audacity 1.3.12-beta, but the waveform doesn't show the entire WMA recording. Is there a maximum file size limitation on the WMA files?

How long is the audio in the file? How much of it do you get imported to audacity?

By "not seeing" do you mean visually seeing in the wavform? I have to ask this... could it be you're zoomed in? Scroll to the right or fit in the windows (Ctrl-F) to see the end of it.
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).

Without actually trying it, I believe you need FFMpeg installed to deal with Windows Media.

My apologies, as I'm new at this, but it appears that I should have posted my question to the Windows forum(?) ... which I will do now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
