Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

I recently purchased Plus Deck2c to convert cassettes to CD. However, I keep receiving "unrecognized codec". The tech at Plus Deck suggested using your program. Can this be done? If it is possible please let me know what I need to do. I have installed Audacity 1.2.6 My o/s is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Well this Blogger http://www.sffaudio.com/2007/01/hardwar ... -from.html also couldn't make it work with the supplied software - but did make it work with Audacity.

I would try downloading the latest Beta Audacity 1.3.5 - it is fairly stable now and has much improved features.

You can do it with Plus Deck, but you don't particularly need the Plus Deck to make your recording. You can use any ol' deck. I use a dual tape deck that automatically plays the other side of the tape, thus freeing me from having to be there to flip the tape around. I do have to be there to turn the deck off.

The unrecognized codec is a separate issue, I think related to your media player. Can't help you with that.
