I recently purchased Plus Deck2c to convert cassettes to CD. However, I keep receiving "unrecognized codec". The tech at Plus Deck suggested using your program. Can this be done? If it is possible please let me know what I need to do. I have installed Audacity 1.2.6 My o/s is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: tape conversion
Well this Blogger http://www.sffaudio.com/2007/01/hardwar ... -from.html also couldn't make it work with the supplied software - but did make it work with Audacity.
I would try downloading the latest Beta Audacity 1.3.5 - it is fairly stable now and has much improved features.

Re: tape conversion
You can do it with Plus Deck, but you don't particularly need the Plus Deck to make your recording. You can use any ol' deck. I use a dual tape deck that automatically plays the other side of the tape, thus freeing me from having to be there to flip the tape around. I do have to be there to turn the deck off.mele28719 wrote:I recently purchased Plus Deck2c to convert cassettes to CD. However, I keep receiving "unrecognized codec". The unrecognized codec is a separate issue, I think related to your media player. Can't help you with that.
