Hi
Been using audacity for some time to record sermons in church, via pc mic.
Recently started trying to record from head mic via mixer pad and the recordings are looking and sounding distorted and 'dalek'-like. The display peaks look very flattened off. We've tried playing with different cables and levels of gain as well as varying the recording level on audacity, all to no avail.
Any basic tips as to how to get good quality recordings from a head mic, via mixer pad?
many thanks
recoring from head mic makes me sound like a dalek!

You need to get a lot more explicit than that. Pretend I'm going to go to the store and buy your exact setup. What part numbers do I buy? What kind of computer do you have? What's a "Mixer Pad?" Which headset? How is it all connected?a head mic, via mixer pad?
I have an AKG head mounted microphone that's really hot and has trouble with some field sound mixers because of overload.
