Hello everyone,

Last month I bought the mentioned mixer. But I'm a beginner so I have a little problem. I'm using computer and iPod, now for example, a song from computer can be heard through speakers while I'm listening to song from iPod on my headphones to properly match it and later "release" it to be heard on speakers too. But I don't know how to do it, I tried many things but it seems like there's no such thing on these mixers.

Do I need to buy a different mixer? Or can this be achieved on the mentioned one?

What exactly are you wanting to do?

It's maybe hard to explain but I try to mix two songs. You just listen the second one to set it properly and then mix it with the first one.

Where have these songs come from? Is it sings that you have recorded (yourself singing), or something you've downloaded, or something else?
What are you wanting/expecting the mixing desk to do?

I've downloaded both songs and what I want to do is match the beat with the songs.

That video is about live mixing.
For live mixing you need to connect your sound sources to the mixer inputs. In the video they are using 2 record decks as the sound sources, though you could be using CD players, iPods, cassette decks, microphones or any other sound sources. The mix is then adjusted (levels and Eq) using the controls on the mixing desk. You would listen to the mix on headphones or speakers that are connected to the mixer (if you are recording a microphone, always listen through headphones to avoid sound from speakers being picked up by the microphone). The live mix is then recorded through the USB connection to the computer. To listen to what has been recorded on the computer you would normally plug your headphones into the computer, or listen through the computer speakers (the computer speakers should not be on when recording with a microphone).

Audacity is also able to play back multiple files without the need for an external mixer - just import the files into audacity and they will appear as separate tracks. The tracks can then be adjusted as required and mixed down into a single track using "Tracks menu > Mix and Render" (this function assumes that you have Audacity 1.3.12 installed.
