Output on headphones

The help on this forum has been much appreciated! QUESTION: I can hear through my headphones during the recording, (mono track/mic only), but on playback, I cannot. Using the Mini Box 2 preamp...records fine, but no playback through the headphones...

My guess is that in your input and output device setting are different. This would mean that the input is set as the Mini Box 2, but the output may still be set as your computer. You can test the theory by playing back the track and plugging the headphones into the computer. To correct this, go to Edit ----> Preferences ----> Audio I/O and make sure that your output is set to whichever you prefer.

Hi

Sometimes, especially if you're using a slightly lower monitor resolution, it won't show all the tabs at once, and you have to kind of scroll sideways to see them all. That one used to confuse me and irritate me for ages. Anyhow, here's what should be there:



Your devices will of course be different, but that's the idea. Look for a tiny arrow/triangle at the edge of the tabs, to shift it over the the I/O tab. Let me know if it doesn't turn up.

Thank you, Justin, but am still not selecting a choice that works for output...yes the playback works through the speakers, but not the headphones, even after selecting and testing each and every preference in Audio preferences for output. What do I want to see to select? Nothing selected sends the sound through the MiniBox 2 and through the headphones on playback. I've been working with a computer guy in the mean time and we have made no progress. Thank you for your patience...but not progress yet.

This was resolved with installation of additional Windows 7 drivers...finally! Jennifer
