Not recognizing mike input

I have Windows 7 and now audacity 1.3 no longer recognizes my usb mike, can anyone help me?

Check that the microphone is enabled as a recording device in the Windows Control Panel before you open Audacity http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Mixer ... trol_Panel

If the microphone is enabled for recording before you open Audacity, you should then be able to select it as the recording device in Audacity "Edit menu > Preferences > Devices".

I second that. It's always important to make sure that your mic/interface is plugged in and enabled before you fire up Audacity. It won't detect it if you plug it in while the program is running.
