USB Turntable ?
Good afternoon world. I have a 3 year old ION iTTUSB turntable purchased to save my old albums. After a past computer crash, and buying a new one I have recently put the program back into our new computer. In trying to get it to work, I found out the old Audacity was not compatible with Windows 7. After downloading Audacity 1.3 Beta, I have a very garbled, static type recording in the playback from the computer. Today I find out that the 1.3 version may not work with Windows 7 either. Now I should go with 1.3.12 but it is talking about a UFO202 item I may need. My turntable is wired with a USB cable I used to just plug into the old computer. It also has red and white RCA jacks which have never been used in the past. With the old computer I was able to record the album, and play it back, but somewhere it failed in downloading from the computer hard drive to the CD. What am I doing wrong, or is there anyone in the Southern Maryland area that can help me out face to face in figuring this out ? I'd really appreciate it.

Audacity 1.3.12 (beta) is the correct version for Windows 7 and should work.
or does it sound like it is being played far too loud and hugely distorted?
Does that sound like there are tiny bits missing from the recording, and at times loud bursts of "static",Wootchie wrote: I have a very garbled, static type recording in the playback from the computer.

Hi Steve. I just went back in and played back one of the songs I recently recorded onto the comp. It sounds more like "blown" speaker rattle. Keep in mind Steve, everything else I play on the computer; wave files, video clips from e-mails, etc. all sound perfect. I probably need more time "learning" Audacity to get it right, but it's really beginning to drive me up the wall.
