how to export mp3

okay so i literally just downloaded this and all i want to use it for is to get songs i cant download onto my ipod. so i recorded a song in stereo, dnt ask why, i guess i figured it'd sound better, and i have the lame thing so i go to save the recorded song, no dashes or any illegal characters right. it saves and now i dont kno how to get to it. i search for the file and it just says it cant open it or whatever. im so confused i have no idea what to do. can someone please help me with this stupid problem?

When you pulled down the lame file from the internet, it comes down compressed and protected. Click on the file and it should open up and show you the real lame library file. That's the one that Audacity needs to produce your MP3 music.
