Yes, Traktor is "DJ Software". It is designed for DJs to do live DJ'ing.
The "DUO" (and other "lite" versions) are not designed to be recorded, so any success you have there is a "lucky bonus" rather than a supported feature.

The "Pro" versions have built-in recording that allow your live mixes to be recorded.
