Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Getting the equalizer to work???
How do I start/engage the Audacity equalizer? The EQ window comes up, but I can't figure out to get the EQ happening. Thanks..

The blue/green line is a rubber band. You click on it and push. Then you click somewhere else and push again. Up is louder and down is softer. Pitch goes up to the right.
Here's one I made to help with rumble in a recording.

Each of those little dots on the blue line is a control point and was put there by hand.
It helps get rid of sounds like a truck/lorry makes when it goes by. Officially, that's a "100 Hz High Pass Filter." You can actually buy a small device that does that in hardware made by Shure Brothers. That's where I got the idea.
