Koz,

Nothing works so far. My next step will be to start from scratch, using Audacity 1.3.9 to digitize music from an LP. I haven't gone back that far yet. Thank you for your help.

There are some serious issues with crossed platforms. Mac/Leopard/Intel will not run Audacity 1.2 properly. Audacity 1.3 is the only option.

Mac/Intel/Tiger will run Audacity 1.2.5, but not 1.2.6.

Leopard was designed for the Intel Mac platform. It has legacy support for PowerPC.
Tiger was designed for PowerPC and has good support (in 10.4.11) for Intel.

Other crossed platforms and versions are undetermined and may not work quite right. Did you upgrade or did you erase the disk?

Koz,

I never did have Tiger. I went from Panther to Leopard. I do not want to go back to Panther, and I do not want to buy Tiger. I will probably go to an Intel Pac in the future. I will make do with what I have.
