On my win7 system wen i want to record a song ive made as soon as i hit the record butten on audacity i get a audible noise that wasent there before

Is there some where in audacity an option to not make this noise ie doe not playback or make sound at all but just pure record

Any body knows why? and how to solve the problem or is this normal?

Re: recording in audacity brings up noise
Firstly, you posted in the 1.2.x section of the forum, but for Windows 7 you should be using the current version 1.3.12
If you don't have it, you can download it from here; http://audacityteam.org/download/
Next, to stop the noise when recording, in the "Transport" menu, "Software Playthrough" should be turned off.
