Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Pasting text into "Edit the Metadata Tags" box

Post by pswinbank » Sat Jan 08, 2011 11:08 am

I do not understand why Audacity will not let me paste text I've copied from Windows Notepad into the "Comments" box of the "Edit the Metadata Tags" box in Edit?
Advice would be gratefully appreciated.

When you click in the comments box (or any other box) in the editor, the box is highlighted with a dark border, and you can start typing text but, as you say, you can't paste text from the clipboard.

If you click again in the box, the highlighting disappears, and a cursor appears in the box. Now you can paste your text.

Before you ask, I don't know why it is designed this way.

POL, brilliant, thanks. I'll try this.
This function is very important to me.
Thanks again for your interest and advice.
