Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

File name saving problem

Post by Aussie4ever » Sat Dec 18, 2010 5:37 pm

When I export my files to mp3 and include the numeral "1" in the file name, the file starts playing while I am trying to save it.
The files I save are all related to the calendar, thus, there are lots of ones in the dates.
Is there something I can do to stop the file from playing? Thank you

Best solution - upgrade to 1.3.12. Especially with OS X 10.6.x you should not be using Audacity 1.2.5.

Quick and dirty solution - go to Audacity > Preferences, the Keyboard tab, and change/clear all the "unmodified" keyboard shortcuts.

What's happening is that "1" is the shortcut to play 1 second of the file. There is a bug in 1.2.5 where unmodified shortcut keys (such as r p z 1 etc.) play the shortcut instead of typing into the save dialog box.

And it's not the only problem. Audacity 1.2 can be profoundly unstable in Leopard or Snow Leopard.
