Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Right,

I've just bought myself an Imac. So now i can record my mixes ect.

I've donloaded audacity a number of times on different computers to record my mixes, but have had the same problem every time.

I'm using 2x technic 1210 mk5g's, pioneer cdj100 mk3 with a behringer djx750 mixer.

I'm using head phone jack to phono, jack in the back on the imac & the phono's going to the TAPE output on the mixer.

So, when i record my mixes, the sound is very distorted & you can hear my voice if i talk?

Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks, luke.

Your Mac is probably recording the wrong thing.

Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input

Pick where you want to record the show from. My bet is you're recording the Mac's built-in microphone.

Then launch Audacity > Preferences > Devices and make sure that matches. If you change anything, restart Audacity.

When you get a little time to deal with this -- soon -- stop using Audacity 1.2. Audacity 1.2 is no longer supported, updated or patched. On some Macs is doesn't run at all. Get Audacity 1.3.12.
