Hello,
I'm trying to mix some tracks together to one long song.
I've cut and edited my tracks I want to put in the mix and I've put them all in one project.
The only thing I've got left to do is to slide the individual tracks into their place so each song is played nicely after the other song.
As far as I know, this has to be done with the Time Shift Tool (the double arrow)
But when I want to slide a track, ALL tracks slide along and I only want that one track is being slided. (Sorry for the confusing English here).
Any solutions? I've searched all around the Internet for days, and I've found no solutions, though I'm convinced that I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Time Shift Tool
You posted on the 1.2.x part of the forum, are you still using a 1.2.x version of audacity? If so consider upgrading to 1.3.x
I don't have a 1.2.x version here to test but on 1.3.12, only one track should move when using the time shift tool, unless you have all tracks selected... Try unselecting all tracks (you can do this through Edit -> Selection -> None or Ctrl-Shift-A). Then try moving the track you want with the time shift tool, only one tracks should move...

Re: Time Shift Tool
oh I am using the 1.3.12-beta version
I didn't notice that,I'm sorry.
However, I don't think that will make much difference.
Aha, as I am typing this, I found the solution!
My Link Tracks was enabled somehow..
Such an annoying problem, such an easy solution....

Re: Time Shift Tool
Now that bugs me. Apparently one of the Linux distros has decided to turn the linking feature on in 1.3.12 for their distribution. While "Linking labels with audio tracks" still exists in the Label Tracks page in the manual, the linking button in the Edit Toolbar is not shown or described anywhere in the 1.3.12 manual. I can't help but wonder who thought they knew better than the Audacity developers what "experimental" features to turn on or off.auberon wrote: Aha, as I am typing this, I found the solution!
