Nothing wrong with TDK discs - I use their CD-R80s - and so far I've only produced one coaster/beer-mat.

If you do not have enough space on your hard drive that certainly can indeed cause problems. It can cause problems for Windows if space really gets tight.

Solution Found! It turns out that part of the problem was an old/sick CD drive I can no longer use and part was my inability to use my perfectly good DVD drive because I didn't understand one of the ImgBurn software features. Thanks to those who tried to look at the problem in terms of Audacity.
