Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Is the CD player the one inside your Mac? Macs do not record internal sound. No Youtube, no iTunes, and no Flash. You can listen to them all, but not record them.
You can force your Mac to do that with the SoundFlower program. That allows the audible shows in your Mac to be recorded.

Still, you should be able to play the CD in iTunes and use that to "rip" the music. Or an I not understanding what you're doing?

Hi Koz
Thanks for your reply.
So I gather that I should record an aup file of each lp, copy it to ITunes and then burn a cd. Or make an MP3 file and copy to Itunes and then burn a cd. Is that right?
Regards,
Jim

Re: No sound replaying on cd player
Did you burn a data CD instead of an Audio CD? If you just burned using the Finder, you made a data CD and it will not play in any CD player.
Do not import the .aup into iTunes.
See: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... y_Projects
For transcribing an LP and creating a separate file for each track which you can import into iTunes:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... ate_tracks
You many want to export as AIF, import those into iTunes then let iTunes to the conversion to MP3. iTunes is faster.
If your goal is to burn an Audio CD of the LP, don't even bother converting to MP3. Drag the imported AIF files to a new playlist in iTunes and burn that playlist.
