Ok so my problem is that sometimes when I import an mp3, the file automatically turn mono and the rate turns to 16000Hz.
The original file is in stereo and as a bitrate of 320kbps...
Is there a way to prevent that.

How do you know that?Ninty wrote:The original file is in stereo and as a bitrate of 320kbps...
If it is a stereo file, Audacity will import it as a stereo file. If you have a specific stereo mp3 file (that definitely IS stereo) and Audacity imports it as mono, please upload it to the web somewhere so that we can download it and have a look.

Well I'm pretty sure it's a stereo file. I uploaded it: http://www.mediafire.com/?ty0maxpgf22

I downloaded it and opened it with Audacity. It's mono.

Re: Importation of mp3
No it is stereo 320 kbps CBR, encoded in iTunes.
but you're right, it opens in Audacity as a mono file
I'm not sure if due to some corruption in the file, or if it is just something odd about the iTunes encoder that Audacity 1.2.6 does not like, but it will open correctly in Audacity 1.3.4
I'd recommend downloading Audacity 1.3.4 and using that, alternatively you could use another program to decode it to WAV format.
