Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Help!!

Post by oakowl » Wed Apr 09, 2008 7:40 pm

Hello,

I'm havign a couple problems. One is that no matter what son I select, the "cut" finction as well as the others in that area say "disabled". Why?? And what can be done?

The other is that whiele several other songs come through just fine - as in once I've opened them in Audacity they play fine; a song I want to work on goes very fast - faster that chipmunk speed even, more like 2 seconds and it's done speed.

Any advice woudl be appreciated.

You have to select all or part of a track before many edit and effects functions are active.

Audacity has a bad habit of opening file formats it doesn't actually support then playing the nasty blip you hear. I'd bet you're trying to use a track from iTunes (MP4, not supported) or perhaps WMA (also not supported). The tracks that do work for you will be WAV or MP3.

Thanks Locopomo. I'll keep playing with it and see what I can come up with :)
