Exporting "malfuncton"

Post by John B » Thu Aug 19, 2010 11:20 pm

Can't export properly! Using OS 10.6.4. Recorded 25 (3min) tracks (@44100) from LP's using pause button, then labeling each. Looks OK, so far. Then, selecting "AIFF" (Apple) signed 16 bit PCM (also tried .wav) & "File - Export Multiple", I was unsuccessful exporting to iTunes (doc folder), desktop, or folder on desktop. In iTunes a 1hr 15min continuous file arrived without labels or individual tracks. On the export to desktop try, only the 1st track showed up. Audacity displayed an error message: "Cannot export audio to /Users/JB/Desktop/30's-40's music/etc...aiff" and also this message: "Export canceled after exporting the following 1 file(s): (1st file named)". Had no trouble with Audacity 1.2.5 last year, but can't seem to conquer this beta. Any suggestions appreciated. John

Export doesn't include labels, it only splits at labels into separate files. AIFF will include metadata if you enter any when exporting.

Do any of the labels include the / character? If so, removing it may cure the problem.

Gale - Yup, I was using /'s in my labels! Fixed everything this AM. Thanks so much for your thoughts. You are the greatest! Regards, John
