I tried using the "Change Tempo..." plug-in and noticed threw a curve ball at the pitch of the track.
I want to be able to change the speed without changing the pitch.
Is there a way of speeding up a track without changing the pitch? If not maybe someone has made a
plug-in for this, say by averaging two waves and merging them into one?

The "Change Tempo..." effect (from the "Effect" menu) should make no difference to the pitch. If it does, could you check exactly which version of Audacity you are using (look in "Help" menu > "About Audacity") and give a step by step description so that we may be able to reproduce the problem.

I am not really sure what happened, but it seems to be working now. I am using Audacity 1.3.12-beta (Unicode).
I will be sure to notify you if I have any more problems with it.
Thanks anyway
