I downloaded some plug-ins from the Audacity site and saved them in my plug-ins folder (in the Audacity folder)
They aren't showing up in Audacity, any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Plug-ins question
If you downloaded a .zip file, you need to unzip it into the plugins folder.

Re: Plug-ins question
Yeah, I unzipped them and everything...even moved them from the folders directly into the 'Plug-ins' folder...still nothing.
They should be showing up automatically under the 'Analyze, Generate, or Effect' drop-downs right?

Re: Plug-ins question
Exactly which effects did you get, and where did you get them from?
Are they VST, LADSPA or Nyquist plug-ins?

Re: Plug-ins question
I actually downloaded all of those, the Nyquist ones are most important though...specifically the vocoder
Re: Plug-ins question
Don't try installing hundreds of plug-ins at the same time, you'll confuse yourself and if there's a problem with just one plug-in that breaks Audacity you will have no idea which one is causing the problem.
I would suggest that you uninstall Audacity completely and start again. Make sure that you remove the configuration file which is located: Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg
Also delete the Audacity folder from the "Program Files" directory - note that if you have Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.4 installed there will be 2 Audacity folders. Audacity 1.3.4 will be in a folder called "Audacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)"
Now install Audacity 1.3.4
Start Audacity and make sure that it is working correctly.
Close Audacity.
If you have downloaded and unzipped the vocoder plug-in you will have a file called vocoder.ny
Put that file into the Audacity Plug-ins folder ( C:Program FilesAudacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode)Plug-Ins )
Restart Audacity and you will see the vocoder listed at the bottom of the Effects list. If it is not listed, then either you have put the file in the wrong place, or the file is corrupt and you will need to download it again.
