I get an instant restart (like pressing the reset button) when running Audacity 1.3.4 from a regular user account (not an administrator). If I run the program as an administrator, then logout and login as user the program runs fine.
I updated to the latest Realtek AC'97 drivers and gave full read/write access to the Audacity folder for the user but still I got the same problem.
I use the zip version of Audacity on Windows 2K. Audacity 1.2.6 do not have this problem.

Re: Restart when not administrator
Have a look in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" to see where Audacities temporary folder is.
Either give your user read/write access to this folder, or select a location for the temporary folder that all users have full access to.
