Fascinating. I'm typing on one of the iMacs and the cursor delay is much more pronounced up here, but still nothing like the YouTube video. I haven't serviced this machine in a million years, so I bet I can make it go a little quicker.
I wonder if the graphics processor in the iMac is Really Different.
ATY Radeon X1600 256MB vram.
Also, this machine is driving another monitor in addition to its own. Maybe I'm going to do some servicing and cast off the second monitor.

Re: Slight lag in OSX
2GHz Intel Core Duo
2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
500BG Hard Drive, 105GB left.
Audacity 1.3.12
The machine was created February 2006
The processor in my laptop is an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M which I believe is a screamer compared to the one in the iMac. All my updates and patches and cleanups didn't make the slightest difference.
The action of the cursor is exactly like it was.
I think we're suffering from a machine that was designed in the twelfth century and hasn't had its insides or processor updated since.

Re: Slight lag in OSX
By way of update: I realize the same, good speed in the latter part of the original video with Wave Editor for Mac, but then the lag once again with Sound Grinder Pro. Interesting. I'm going to give Amadeus a try and then resign myself to the lag.
