Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

No sound

Post by Rustyfile » Thu Jul 29, 2010 12:35 pm

I am new to Audacity. I just installed it, to be able to convert old cassettes to cds. I am playing from a small new unit called Digitech Audio and my operating system is Windows XP. Audacity seemed to record okay but when I play back, there is no sound. I have saved the file as wav and mp3 and tried to play them on AVS and WMP but still no sound. Does anyone know what I should do?

Thanks.

Where do you want the playback sound to come out from? From the "Digitech Audio" device or from your normal sound card?

In Audacity 1.2.6, look in "Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O" to select the playback device.

Thanks stevethefiddle, this recommendation helped me solve a similar problem.
