No Line In Sound When Trying To Record

No Line In Sound When Trying To Record

I reinstalled Audacity 1.3 Beta and still no line in sound when recording cassette to hard drive.My sound works on all other computer applications but nothing when I use the line in plugin.
I have a realtek RTL8168-8111-Vista_NB sound card and had someone reinstall the driver last week but something is affecting the line in plug in only. My tec installed a new NIC card last week so we thought we had fixed the no sound problem. Now it is just the line in plug in.

did your tec check the realtek driver to make sure line in was enabled and the volume was max ?
