is the path to the folder where the search found them
the same as the program you are using to open them thinks it should be in

try changing the path in that open audacity window
to wherever you found the au file snippets

and in the future
never rename or move anything
except for this recovery (which should not be needed unless something got renamed or moved)

OK- When I hit Import Audio, I get:

My files aren't there. So I have to use the black arrow thingy to see C: drive stuff:

Eventually, it find them in my Temp folder here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/4806193777/

So I highlight them all & try to Open With:

But Audacity isn't one of the choices. So I Browse for it:

& find it...

BUT...It brings me right back, basically to square one. =/

Hope that made sense. Thanks for your patience...

This is where it goes wrong.
At this point you should highlight them and press the "Open" button located at the bottom right corner of your third picture.

Ahhh! Got it! Ok-I was able to get them back & *saved* this time.
They came back like this:

With the file numbers going past 'b00150'. A lot. Would I have to manually 'stitch' them all back together on one line now?

I can't really help with that question - if automatic recovery does not work I just cut my losses and do the recording again. However, I can direct you to this page which contains all of the documentation on the subject: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/CrashRecovery

The .au files are all in sequential order as expected, so you should be able to use the mesw.de recovery utility you were trying to use before from the Crash Recovery page.

I can't see the full path to where those files are from the image, but you have to tell the utility to look in the path ending in "audacity_1_2_temp" to find the .au files. The recovery WAV files will then be placed in that same directory path ending in "audacity_1_2_temp".

Also the recording looks excessively loud and likely to distort (the light blue part of the waveform shouldn't usually reach nearly to the top). Adjust the input slider so that the red recording meter does not go farther right than about -6 dB on the loudest parts, and does not bring on the red clipping indicator to right of the meter bars.
