I have the new verson of audacity and would like to know how to make a sound fadout??

Select the portion of audio you wish to fade (use your cursor to click & drag to make the selection) - and then use Effect > Fade Out

than you for the help but one more thing?
I see I select what I want to fadout and click effecs fadout. And it works.

But how do I get the amount I want to fadout?

If I want the fadout to be more do I just keep doing the same thing over and over agin???????

The Fade Out effect happens over the duration of the timeline that you select. If you drag-select 20 minutes of show, then the effect will fade out for 20 minutes.
