I have recently downloaded Audacity onto my Vista notebook. It seemed to instal OK and opened up fine but I cannot record anything. I have checked the FAQ and various articles, but cant find a solution.
I have also checked control panel / sound / manage audio devices and see that under the "recording" tab I have a microphone and WaveOut mix devices shown, but nothing else. I have enabled everything in turn but the only recording I get is a high pitched buzz when the microphone is enabled and used.
I can record using the windows sound recorder so thats ok.
I have previously used Audacity on another PC using XP and had no problems at all.
Vista seems pretty touchy in the driver department, but I'm hoping there is a solution. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think you've hit the nail on the head.Radders wrote:Vista seems pretty touchy in the driver department,
This is probably the best resource for this kind of problem (which it sounds like you have already seen):

- if the problem still persists, you may need to look for updated drivers (or a better operating system)
